Ayudar al que lo necesita no sólo es parte del deber, sino de la felicidad
Benedicta Leon is a proud Peruvian immigrant based out of Philadelphia, PA. She came to the United States in 1986 with her mother and siblings to begin a new legacy for future generations to come.
While adjusting to the huge culture shock that was coming to the United States, she still always desired to feel a sense of community and belonging with her Peruvian roots. As soon as she learned about Asociación Nacional de Peruanos Americanos (ANPA), she immediately joined and eventually pivoted her way to become a board member. Although ANPA is no longer an active organization, she always knew she wanted to create spaces and support for her local Peruvian community. She then joined PATHere (Peruvians Americans Together Here) in 2019, and due to her community activism and background, she was then nominated and appointed President for PATHere.
Benedicta has over 20 years of experience working in both the social and health care field. She is also heavily involved with her community and always ready to extend her unconditional support to anyone in need.
